Klarna shares rise 15% in their first day of trading on Wall Street

TORONTO - Strength in basic materials and energy stocks helped Canada's main stock index finish higher on Wednesday, while U.S. markets were mixed.   

The S&P/TSX composite index was up 116.38 points at 29,179.39.
